I live in Thailand and I have found 4 rather unusual and large caterpillars on a tree in my garden, I have searched many websites and find nothing resembling them.
They are about 6 inches long with a 2 inch circumference; a plain green colour with no markings. They have 11 sections with several spikes on each, they are not sharp but to spikey looking to be classed has knobbles. They also have a false pink eye on its back end. Most distinctive of all, is it has a white dust all over the top of its body (like it has been dusted with icing sugar) that can be blown off.
I am intrigued to know what they are and if the white powder is dangerous, none of the locals seem too familiar with them, so I’m guessing they’re quite rare.
