Strange insect

I saw this insect in Cuc Phuong National Park, Vietnam. It was approximately 10cm long and I think the green thing in its formidable mandibles is something is was carrying/eating. I'd very much appreciate a positive ID - this forum hasn't let me down yet!!

Many thanks,

It's not an insect, it's a uropygid or whip scorpion. They're arachnids, in an order of their own (like spiders, mites, scorpions). Mostly predatory but occasionally scavenge food.

Dunno about the green thing. I wondered if it was some sort of beetle, although my book says some uropygids will take vegetable items very occasionally.
