    Looks like Dusky Thorn Ennomos fuscantaria to me.

    Maybe a Feathered Thorn (Colotois pennaria)?

    Hi Higgy,

    For what its worth I agree with emg as well, as you pointed out the scalloped wing shapes missing, but as you say the dots are not prevelant but with this wing shape thats about all it can be. So anyway my vote is Feathered Thorn

        Hi,

         

        I too hesitated over the absence of spots on the wing, in my book the description has 'variable markings' and 'often with a small silvery spot near wing tip', I went to check a few sites and found they don't always seem to be present, there are some photos here: http://www.norfolkmoths.co.uk/index.php?bf=19230&photoid=1184110078 where the spot is absent, see what you think when compared to yours, it may be something else but hopefully this might help,
