Seen near the LI river in SE China in August, 2012
it's a male Trithemis aurora, the Crimson Marsh Glider. the female being brownish yellow.

Habdab - would you say this is the female (photographed nearby) or another species?
It's possible, but from your pictures they look like Brachydiplax Denticauda. Have a look on this site and see if you can determine the species yourself http://www.oocities.org/indianodonata/wings__images.htm
