Can anyone identify this strange fish found NW Scotland?

Please can anyone identify this strange fish? The body has clearly been nibbled on and the remains are somewhat dessicated but several features are still clearly visible including the teeth on the far right of the photo, several exposed vertebrae in the middle, and it's distinctive whip like tail with what I can only describe as rows of sharp curved "teeth" running the full length of the tail. The fish is about 25/28cm long and was found on the beach at Achmelvich just north of Ullapool on the NW coast of Scotland. I have never seen anything like this before but my money is on it being a deep water species.
