This is a picture of a large fly with black and white check pattern on it's back and two red eyes with 6 long legs and two wings. Could you tell me what it is?
I have a nest of them in my Virginia Creeper on the front of my house. They sound like wasps and i think some of them look more like wasps.
Do they sting and are they aggressive?
Your link is to the Flies section of the forum. Can't you incorporate the picture in to your posting?
Thanks for that I didn't know I could include the picture.
There is no information on this fly in the section on flies even though there is a picture of it. Can you tell me what it is?
I think it's a flesh fly, Sarcophaga sp. There are other flies with a similar body pattern but the slightly elongate shape of yours suggests (to me) Sarcophaga. Anyway, see -
