Mite type bugs in thatched roof

We have a thatched cottage which has recently been renewed. we have not have a thatched roof before.

last summer, we started to get small mite type bugs.

Can anybody help me identify a mite type bug, that seem to emerge in about late March early April and disappears in mid november ish.

that are about 0.5mm long, a almost translucent colour and about 0.25mm in width. i can not see any obvious antenia, or other extensions. they do not jump, but do move very fact indeed. they congregate where it is warm, so at night, they can be found in the cast of the beside lamp in the eaves ceiling. they do not present as any problem, save for we do not know what they are. they do not bite.

my camera, does not have a lens suffient to get a clear picture, so will try to get under a microscope, when i find somebody with one of those. I have captured one, between celetape.

would be grateful for any asistance

Did you ever find out what the mite was called,  or how to get rid of them. Like you we had our thatch renewed last year with reed from China and ever since the same kind of bugs are everywhere,

I dont know  if it is connected but I have just noticed a strange 'whooshing' noise in the thatch, like water rushing through a pipe, sounds like areal infestation but can't find anything on google.
