Can anyone identify this small tree/shrub?

I recently moved into a property and some work needed doing on the outside drain. This little tree/shrub was in the way and was pulled. Luckily I could save it and potted it in the largest pot I have (currently has some kind of wildflowers growing in it that don't really matter to me). I don't know what it is but if I had to guess it would be an Elder or an Ash? Does anyone have a clue what it is? If it is something nice I am thinking of planting it in my front garden which has a rather large space fit for a small-medium sized tree or a shrub of some sort.

    Hi,

this looks like an Ash seedling, Fraxinus excelsior.

They become very large trees with time so I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for a front garden!  Try collecting some Rowan berries or apple pips and growing them on, much more managable trees and great for wildlife too...
