Well I was driving a couple of days ago and had an intense pain in my back. I thought it was maybe something shark under my top digging in. When I put my hand under my top at the back, I pulled out this bug. I was scared and panicked, so threw it on the floor and then it crawled to my gear box.
I had a shark pain in my back for ages afterwards but I thought maybe it had just pinched me with some claws. I wasn't sure if it was a bite or not.
I am allergic to most stings and bites so I took a picture of the bug just in case. I just have a small red mark on my back, and lucky the pain went and nothing further happened.
Thanks for your help ;-)
It doesn't inject any poison (like a wasp) or irritating saliva (like a mosquito), it is the sting itself that is painful (haven't been stung myself by just this species, but by some close relatives) but it leaves no itch or swelling (normally at least).
