Hi there ,
Small (3-4mm approx) and very slow moving, infact they move a bit like #a tiny weevil and seem to be coming from somewhere under the bath as far as I can see.
Does anyone know what they are and are they harmful (as in,do the b*****s bite )?
P.S. First post and apparently I haven't "marked this as a question"...no idea how so please bear with me. Thanks.
Thanks for the reply. Yes, looks very like them but ones here are black as in my pic, although maybe different colour under high mag.
...." Toe-eater Beetles."
Ye gods!! Do they bite then ????
But why the bathroom of all places and what are they living on if they are grain type weevils?
So far I have sprayed bathroom with various insecticides but they are still there.
Help on how to get rid of them would be much appreciated.
I should maybe add that I'm in the North of Scotland and the bathroom is just a bare floor, ie, no carpet or anything (still renovating the place). Could they be breeding in or under the old wooden bath panel supports?
Hi, thanks again.
I take it from your avatar your are from southern hemisphere?
'Hope to get rid of them once and for all when I get around to gutting out this bathroom. It's an old cottage which was sadly neglected by last occupier.
Till then will just need to keep hoovering and spraying. Just wondered how they were surving without grain etc?
Anyway, many thanks for your help. At least I know what they now.
