There were quite a few of these things on the beach and they were about 2”-3.5” across and were quiet round and hollow inside.
These are the remains of sea-urchins (Echinoidea). I don't want to go down to species level.

These are Sea Potatos, Echinocardium cordatum they are a sand burrowing sea urchin that often turn up after a good storm.
