This spider likes to sit outside our back door in London, rarely moves and if presented with a stick will attack instead of running away. Any ideas what it is? Thank you.
I think it's a Segestria. The pattern on the abdomen can help to distinguish the species but it's so faint it doesn't help much. I'll guess it's a young florentina but I'm happy to be proved wrong.
Hi there. I think it's a Segestria as well and probably a florentina. The pattern on the abdomen is present on quite a few smaller ones I've seen and maybe the flash has made the legs browner than usual?
