Identification of a Thorny Cricket in N.Somalia (Puntland)

I was traveling (for work) in Puntland (north eastern Somalia) and spent  a day in Iskushuban, which is an oasis in the centre of that part of the world.  In the mornings there would be dozens of these thorny crickets wondering around on object covered in dew.  They are about 5cm or so from nose to abdomen.  I was told they are mole crickets but this is clearly not the case.  I'm just very curious as to what they actually are (I have a Zoology background but not good enough for this kind of thing).

Thanks for any tips or help.  I tried to google it using some basic keywords but nothing comes close.

Best

Phil
