For a few days - possibly over a week - we have had an uninvited guest.
I kept refering to it as a little spider. I commented that it might be a jumping spider as it had comparatively big feet.
My husband, a little more knowledgeable about these things, had a look. He said that it wasn't an arachnid as it only had 6 legs. He also said he thought it looked as though it should have wings.
He took a couple of photos (attached). We could then see that it does indeed have wings, though they are quite small. The 'visitor' has not been seen flying.
The 'bug' has settled in and around the window of the lounge. He particularly appears to enjoy the net curtain.
The property is in South West London.
What is he / it?
Many thanks to you both.
When we looked at the link for Cataerina Pallida we weren't convinced. We then checked out other images on the Internet and can say that that's the one!
He / She / it appears to have now died. (We've found another couple nearby that were dead.)
There has been a nest nearby - Swifts or Martins - so that probably explains it.
Thank you both for solving our little mystery.
