Can anyone help me identify this bug?

It is the third that I have found in my bed over the last couple of weeks. It is about 3-4mm long and a yellowy colour with blackish stripes. Is it likely to be harmful to children/pregnant women and do we need to take any action to get rid of them?

Although they will happily munch away at your carpets and rugs, they will happily take on any natural fibres around the place.  They don't bite and aren't toxic, they just add a little nature to any room!!  Seriously, a couple turning up now and again are probably not going to be a massive problem.  A good hoovering on a frequent basis will get rid of most larvae (you might want to hoover mattress/chair edges & corners from time to time too).  Personally, I think filling your home with pesticides is likely to be far more risky for the wife and kids - just accept the occasional small visitor as part of life's rich pattern!!
