The first photo was taken today and I think this is the Common Green Shield Bug (Palomena prasina). The second photo was taken last summer and I thought it was also a Common Green Shieldbug, but comparing the two it is slightly lighter in colour.
Can anyone confirm whether both of these photos of the same species? or is the second a Southern Green Shieldbug (Nezara viridula)?
my guess its that they are both Palomena prasina as Nezara viridula are green all over and your second attached picture has brown wing tips.
