Hi there! I live in the Ottawa area of Ontario in Canada. WHile out hiking I found a single bone; pretty sure it's a tibia. I would really like to know what animal it may have come from. There were no other bones in the area that I could find. It measures about 9 inches (22.5 cm).
I've dealt with those exact bones in my anthropology class (over here in Hamilton!). That's from a white tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) and looks to be a tibia of a juvenile from the really bumpy and textured distal end.
