Hello there im looking for some advice on preserving my fossils from the Oxford Clay with a Consolidant . They are mostly vertabra / rib / phalanges / and various other bones from plesiosaurs / pliosaurs / cryptoclidus / Ichthyosaurus. Heres just a few for an example.
Thank You very much
Darren Withers ..
if you don't have any joy here then try posting on the NatSCA forum

Thank You for the link Holly . After doing some research ive decided to use the compound Paraloid B72 mixed with Acetone.Should give me the results im looking for .
Anymore Suggestions from anyone welcome
Thanks Darren..
Very good choice - it's about the most reversible coating you can use. The only problem is that if you have too high a concentration of paraloid in the solution it can make your fossils shiny but if that happens you can remove it with acetone.

Ryan
