I'd love to know what they are. Can anyone help?
Many Thanks in advance
They looks like larvae of Anthrenus (which seems to be called Carpet beetles along with at least Attagenus) - a feared pest in any insect collection BTW. See http://www.artportalen.se/artportalen/gallery/Image.aspx?rappsyst=7&obsID=542141&imageID=71971
The larvae of Anthrenus are rather stumpy compared to those of Dermestes (http://bugguide.net/node/view/510054) and Attagenus (http://www.pbase.com/image/41877881) - and YES, I have enough experience of all three of them!
I think Amazonskye is right...
these look about right
I've put 2 in a jar and I think they've suffocated their pigment has moved to the ends.Bit like this one
Looking at a google image search of "Anthrenus verbasci larvae" and they really look right.
I'm hoping we got the majority of them but I think I might be being optimistic. Oh well, at least they're not fleas!
