What area of research do you think is most relevant today? The history of life on Earth? Rates of extinctions? Effects of climate change? Discovery of new species? Loss of biodiversity? Spread of disease? How to manage the slugs in your garden? Let us know what you think our scientists should be spending their time on.
I think they should do studies on bee's because what if they start disappearing
loss of biodiversity and rate of extinction.
Alsofinding new spiecies in areas unexploured and work on conservation of them.
I am from a country that is very rich in biodiversity - South Africa. I have a certain something that drives me to explore nature in any way and by any means possible, because I realise the importance of it in human life (in fact in ALL forms of life). I recently came to London and paid a visit to the Natural History Museum (after I've read both the Voyage of The Beagle and On The Origin of Species) and it impressed me very much. I thought by myself: That a country so far from my own cares so much about nature around the world, is astonishing.
I'd like the Museum to study more about how they can involve people from all over the globe in their research and taxonomy efforts... So that we can live WITH nature whilst being aware of our impact and role in it, and not live BY it without realising its significance. Scientists must help the world realise that preserving nature is not a punishment or bother (like most people do) - its a passion that is inherent in every one with a conscience.
I think it would be really helpful if scientist could figure out how the brain works in further detail because some aspects of the brain are still misunderstood like dreams and the imagination. If we new this then we could start to understand mental illnesses in further detail and we can figure out how clever different animals are and how they think and operate.
I think they should focus more on what is effecting us and wildlife right now and what they could do to stop the future being bleak and distraught. i.e climate change:global warming-natural disasters,hunting and crime.
I think scientists should start trying to preserve known species instead of trying 2 find new ones. i also think some scientists should start to study mushrooms and fungi, coz most people think they are boring, but i am fascinated by them.
Here are some things i think scientists at the museum should study ;
We know that climate changes are taking place, so why don't they study if it's possible for the human being to live in other condition?or wich are the changes that should make for humans to live? what do you think?
