Is this the a  dinosaur hip joint?

hello

Please see the attached photos of what appears to be a dinosaur hip joint. The femur is broken off however you can see the outside and the marrow also you can see where the imprint muscle was attached to the bone.  I have found many fossils in this field some in another photo to help date. I was unaware of Dinosaurs of this size in Northamptonshire. The field was only just ploughed this week and fresh rain had cleaned the top stones to allow for easy finding conditions.

regards

James

Hi James - welcome to NaturePlus

The first photo contains several typical Early Jurassic bivalves (Gryphaea) and a Belemnite, plus some recent mammalian teeth.

The other photos are of concretionary mudstone. Sorry but I don't see any reptilian bones here at all.

If you can give the location I can add the local geological map

    Thanks

(PS. Dinosaurs were land animals whereas the rocks in your area were all laid down in the sea)
