Your habitat - home and garden

About your habitat

Silverfish, Lepisma saccharina

We share our homes, gardens and local areas with all sorts of creatures from the natural world. Some are pests, some provide important conservation benefits, and some are there by mistake.

It's possible to encourage more wildlife to your garden, for example, by planting a variety of native plants to encourage insects. But there may already be more species in your local habitat than you are aware of.

Try looking in your own back garden or even your home to find out what other wildlife you could be living with.
