Behaviour

Anopheles janconnae is anthropophilic in Roraima.  

It is an important malaria vector in the savannah biome around Boa Vista, Roraima. 

Specimens of Anopheles janconnae were found infected with:

  • Plasmodium falciparum
  • Plasmodium vivax VK 210
  • Plasmodium vivax VK247
  • Plasmodium malariae (Póvoa et al. 2006)
