Parides agavus is a strong flier (Paim and Di Mare, 2002) and individuals have been recorded to travel up to 1.3km in search of flowers (Brown et al, 2004).

However, the butterflies tend to remain close to the area where they emerged (de Morais and Brown, 1991), travelling on average only 100 metres or so (Brown et al, 2004).
