  • Trinidad

Habitat

Old growth, undisturbed tropical rainforests, on steep slopes or along creeks on well-drained soil, up to c. 600m.

Population biology

Populations can number up to about 100 plants, but are usually less-abundant. It is common on Guadeloupe, but rare elsewhere.

Trophic strategy

Grows usually on fertile volcanic soils.
