Biology

Eliurus webbi is a medium sized rat - approximately 14cm long and weighing about 10g.

Its dense pelage is soft and fine in texture, and moderately long. The dorsal pelage is a darker grey than that of the ventral pelage. The tail is longer than the head and body and the tail tuft is dark (Carleton, 2003).

Eliurus webbi is nocturnal and is a mostly scansorial species.

The rats live in monogamous pairs in ground burrows.

Females give birth to up to 3 young.

Their diet consists of a variety of fruits, insects and grains (Carleton, 2003).
