This species is known from only 4 caves in the Chinese Autonomous Province of Guangxi.
Using accepted criteria for assessing conservation status, this species can be considered endangered.
The numerous caves of south west China are home to many species of plants found nowhere else in the world, and they may represent an important resource for conservation in this area.
