This is the year for space probes - NASA recently said goodbye to the Pioneer 10 space probe, more than 30 years after its launch, while later this year the British Beagle 2 probe will start exploring Mars. But some 'space probes' come to us, in the form of meteorites, revealing evidence about space and its history. Some contain material from the beginning of the solar system, allowing scientists a window to 4.5 billion years ago. Others come from planets such as Mars and the moon, and reveal how these planets were formed. Join Museum mineralogist Caroline Smith to discover more of the secrets of meteorites.
