The dodo is one of the most famous inhabitants of Mauritius. But for 200 years, it was thought there were two further species, the 'solitaire' and a third, the white dodo of Réunion Island. But these were nothing more than misinterpretations of travellers' tales. The 'solitaire' was in fact an ibis, and there was no white dodo of Réunion Island. Join Museum PhD student Julian Pender Hume to explore the myths and mysteries surrounding the dodo.
