For tourists, the islands of Hawaii are famous as lush tropical playgrounds. For biologists, they are a natural evolutionary laboratory, home to hundreds of plants and animals found nowhere else in the world. Yet many of them are threatened with extinction and few visitors will see even one native species during their stay. Join Museum ornithologist Jo Cooper, reporting back from a recent trip to the islands, to find out what's happening beyond the beaches.
