The bilberry bumblebee, Bombus monticola, is unmistakable in Britain with red hair on its abdomen and bright yellow bands on its thorax. 

It occurs in the higher hills and moorlands in the west and north of Britain, where it visits the flowers of many plants, including bilberry.
