Introduction
Bullet-shaped fossils called belemnites occur commonly in rocks
of Jurassic and Cretaceous age (65-205 million years
old). They can be found weathered out of clays and chalks
in great abundance at some localities.
In fossil folklore they are often referred to as
thunderbolts. |
