About the Big Nature Debate

In October 2010, delegates from around the world attended COP10 (the 10th meeting of the Conference of the Parties of the Convention on Biological Diversity) in Nagoya, Japan. They met to agree important new targets for preserving biodiversity.

The Big Nature Debate was launched ahead of COP10 to give everyone an opportunity to discuss their questions, concerns, and ideas.

The issues raised via the Big Nature forum, blogs, Facebook and Twitter were addressed during the live debate on 7 October. We also passed the key points on to the British government ahead of the conference.
