  • The drawing is inscribed in blue pencil at top right with the number "10", which refers to the pre-1984 numbering system for the Watling Collection.
  • The drawing is inscribed in black ink at the bottom with the title "A View of the Land from Botany Bay to Port Jackson -", apparently in John Hunter's hand (Wheeler and Smith, 1988, p.81). Various coastal features on the drawing are labelled in black ink, including, from left to right, "Point Solander", "Botany bay", "N40W", "Cape Banks", "N10W", and "South head of Port Jackson".
  • The drawing is unsigned and undated, but attributed to John Hunter in Wheeler and Smith (1988), p.81.
  • The features depicted in the drawing overlap and continue northwards from those represented in Watling Drawing number 5.
  • The author of this catalogue record is Suzanne Stenning.
