hide detailed image description

Aboriginal man, woman and child in a harbour landscape. The man stands under a tree on the right of the composition, holding a spear and stick in his left hand, with other implements propped against the tre trunk. He is raising his right hand towards the woman, who is on the far left of the picture and is holding a fish towards him in her left hand. She holds a basket of fish in her right hand, which the child to the left of her is pulling downwards and gesturing towards the contents. There is a fire on the slope behind them on the extreme left. In the gap between the man and woman is a view of a stretch of water with two distant figures paddling canoes, cut off by the far shore. The shore has been painted with a dark brown and orange edge. The drawing is framed by a pencil border and annotated in brown ink.
