Detail of a branch from a flowering tree or shrub against a plain background. The stem is slender and brown, with elongated elliptic leaves which are pale green in colour overlaid with short brown or grey lines, and three black longitudinal veins. Three flower spikes are columnar in shape and composed of a yellow wash overlaid with bright yellow dots, while another two have round blossoms clustered along a stem with buds at the base. The drawing is annotated in brown ink.
