Ferdinand Bauer is internationally regarded as an outstanding
botanical artist. His depictions of the Australian flora and
fauna, which he made during the voyage of HMS Investigator
(1801-1803) under the command of Captain Flinders, represents
one of the greatest achievements in the annals of natural
history art.
