Lance Calkin (1859-1936) John James Audubon is famous for his life-size illustrations of birds, published in the book Birds of America (1827-1838). With its stunning large and colourful plates this book is one of the best known natural history books every to have been published. It is now highly prized as one of the most valuable printed books in existence. |
