Archibald Thorburn is one of the great natural history
illustrators of the twentieth century. He developed a mastery
of watercolour that he applied with great skill in his representations
of natural history subjects.
This watercolour of three species of dolphins demonstrates
his ability to bring a sense of speed and action to his drawings.
