Notes:
Poole (1989) included EMARGINEA in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE, subsequently restricted to the genus AMPHIPYRA by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999). Other genera formerly treated in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE are treated as HADENINAE by Kitching & Rawlins (1999).

Poole (1989) included DACIRA Walker, 1858; and CYATHISSA Grote, 1881 as junior synonyms of EMARGINEA Guenée, 1852.

Poole (1989) included 11 species in the genus EMARGINEA.
