ACTIVITIES 1994 - 1996
The Forum was set up in February 1994, initially for a period of 26 months until April 1996, in order to promote communication and coordination in the systematics community. During this term of funding, activities have included:

1. Developing a directory of UK systematic biology expertise now available on-line with nearly 700 records.
2. Setting up specialist groups of collection managers to consider best practice and develop ways of coordinating aspects of collections management.
3. A national workshop to develop criteria for setting research priorities within systematics.
4. A meeting of Directors of the member institutions to discuss the need for, and content of, a national strategy for systematic biology research.

Further details on these activities can be found in the Annual Report 1995-96 and the Annual Review 1994-95 - available from the Secretary.
