The Banquet will start with welcome drinks at the Curator's House Restaurant from 19:00 on Thursday 14 October 2004. We will meet at the restaurant which is at the edge of the Botanic Gardens, a short walk (15 minutes) from Cathedral Square / Heritage Hotel.
Please be at the restaurant by 19:30 - dinner will start at 20:00 prompt.
Remiss of us! In the struggle to fit a large number of contributed papers (thank you, all) into a cramped schedule, we completely forgot to expain to new delegates what the TDWG Banquet is, what you can expect and what we (the TDWG Executive) hope you will get out of it.
What is it? Simply, an informal gathering of delegates for a good meal in a nice environment.
What can you expect? The tradition is for a place of historical, scientific or cultural significance. This year the Banquet is generously sponsored by BIOGIS Consulting, which leads me to expect you will not be disappointed!
What to we hope you get out of it? A chance to meet up with both close colleagues and also delegates who may not come from the same background as you, for a good meal, good wine, good company and informal discussion of TDWG-related matters.
