TDWG 2003 Evening Reception - Friday 24 October

The Evening Reception will be held on Friday 24 October. There will be no charge for the Reception for registered delegates (Reception included in the Registration Fee).

IMPORTANT: Please help us to get catering numbers right by ticking the relevant box in the Agenda section of the on-line Registration Form.

Provisional time: 17:30 (depending on the final timing of the afternoon sessions) until late! After the Reception a bus will be provided for transport back to the Hotel Praia Mar (time not yet set).

We hope to have a "cultural" evening with traditional food & drink from Portugal, our host country, but we encourage delegates to bring with them to the meeting something (food or drink) representative of their own culture or home country. You might like to say when you register whether you will be able to bring anything but otherwise just let's see what turns up! If you are bringing a partner who is not registered to attend meeting sessions please bring an appropriate additional contribution.

The Evening Reception will be held in the Patio area in front of the Auditorium Building starting soon after the end of the meeting sessions.

We have arranged a selection of Portuguese food and wine, with soft drinks also available, and we hope there will be contributions (perhaps some of them unusual!) from around the world brought by delegates.

There will be a musical performance by local musicians starting at about 18:00.

If the weather is not perfect the Reception will be held in the Cafeteria and the musical performance will be in the Auditório Ionians (the big auditorium).

If you are not attending a meeting at the Institute (for example the SEEK meeting at the hotel) please try to make your way to the Institute by 17:30. It takes 35-40 minutes to walk from the hotel or you can take the train (one stop) from Carcavelos Station to Oeiras Station and walk a few minutes to the Institute.

If you have not registered for the Reception you are still welcome to attend but please tell us before lunch on Friday so that we can adjust the catering. Similarly, if you have registered but are unable to attend please let us know.

TDWG 2003 Banquet - Saturday 25 October

The TDWG 2003 Banquet is being charged separately from the Registration Fee. The cost is €45.

IMPORTANT: Please help us to get catering numbers right by booking your seat on the on-line Registration Form.

Delegates are strongly advised to book a seat at the Banquet at the time of Registration (on the Registration web site - available now - see Registration page). Partners are welcome to attend the Banquet if booked at the same time (partners do not have to register for the meeting if they will not be attending any of the sessions - just book additional tickets on the delegate's registration).
