THE GOSSIP MEETING OF 18th APRIL 2006

[I am grateful to Tony Dutton for providing the photographs and captions for this report - TSD]

The subject of the meeting was digital microscopy. Rather surprisingly only one exhibit related to this; perhaps it was a little close to Easter and many members may have been still on holiday.

The President, Maurice Moss opens the meeting, and introduces the evening's discussion.

Above right, Eric Hollowday (Mr Rotifer) displays some of his samples from the NHM Wildlife Garden Pond, including (left) some very active Trichocercae

Fred Price has a beautiful little Swift Portable, under which he showed a slide of a stained section of lung cancer.

Bryan Tabor, a past President, displays a selection of optical attachments for connecting a digital camera to a microscope.

Bill Boorn is one of the great characters in the Club, with an unrivalled collection of instruments and accessories. He showed this nice little early French microscope.

And also this superb collection of bone slides with mica covers!
