TONY DUTTON'S TALK ON DIY

Tony Dutton is one of the most respected members of the Quekett. On the 15th August he gave a talk on DIY in microscopy.

Having visited his well-equipped workshop, and having often admired his many ingenious and original constructions, I was sorry to miss his talk due to ill-health.

However he has kindly sent some picture of the event, including this one of him starting his presentation

An example of his own workmanship is this highly modified Watson 'Bactil' rebuilt from bits.

This superb slide cabinet was built and exhibited by Derek Brown.

On the left Dr J B Nelson shows some of his specialist objectives; on the right is Bryan Tabor's exhibit of some special instruments and LED lighting.

Finally Graham Mathews demonstrates Witska phase contrast images.

Clearly a thoroughly enjoyable and interesting meeting. Thanks Tony!
