This slide is simply labelled 'Tingis'. It was an award-winning slide at the 1857 Paris Exhibition.

Charles Hussey of the Natural History Museum, has sent me this note: 'The genus Tingis has four UK species: T. ampliata, T. angustata, T. cardui & T. reticulata They are lacebugs. Three of the species feed on thistle, one on bugle.'
