Les Franchi has adapted a cheap fixed focus lens digital camera with great success to produce the following pictures:

Left: shows the attachment Les has made to adapt his Olympus to an eyepiece.

Above: the attachment in use.

The histology shot is H&E mammalian stomach pits using Leitz x40
Right: a common object, but nicely caught in Dark Ground Illumination.

It all goes to show that you don't need expensive equipment to enter the world of digital photomicography.
