EDITION PICTURES
This part of the site contains pictures from previous editions that I think are worthy of keeping available. Many of the more senior members have substantial collections of fine slides, and I have asked them to contribute some of their favourites; as time goes by I shall transfer their contributions from the front page to this area. Furthermore I have optimised this page for XGA (1024 X 768 display - apologies if this causes problems to SVGA users (800X600). This may result in some long download times, but I hope you will think it worthwhile.
Colin Kirk was one of the winners of the Eric Marson award for slide mounts. He kindly lent me this slide for a phtotgraph for the Web site. It is of Horse Bot Fly eggs on horsehair. Each egg is approximately 1.3mm long. lt ooked impressive with transmitted light, but I think even more so under dark ground illumination.
Mount: Collin Kirk.

Another shot of Fred Price's slide of the diatom Licomorpha splendidens. Taken with the 'poor man's Nomarski - an axial substage stop, just too small to give DGI. |

Fred Price - again! A slide of the complex yttrium platinate cyanide, taken under cross polars, with a 1/4 wave plate |
