Growing up in Maine, I was surrounded by nature and as soon as I could walk a passion for animals and art developed. I vividly remember as a small child, my parents giving me a copy of The World We Live. I spent many hours studying the wonderful dinosaur paintings of Rudolf Zallinger in that book. A self-taught artist, for many years I concentrated on painting birds. However, I have never lost my fascination for prehistoric worlds and in the past three years have concentrated on portraying the very distant past.
