This
is an A5 spiral-bound handbook with 93 distribution maps of the ferns,
including naturalised aliens, and fern allies of Britain & Ireland.
The maps were copied under licence from all those in the New Atlas of
the British & Irish Flora, eds. Preston et al. (2002), and its CD.
Maps are presented in simple alphabetical order from Adiantum capillus-veneris
to Woodsia ilvensis, as in an index or dictionary.
Maps are reproduced in colour with blue and red dots for natives and aliens
respectively, and different colour intensities for the indicated dates.
The references cited in the texts are given in full at the end of the
handbook. There is also an Index of Common Names.
The handbook was published in a limited edition of 300 copies on 1st October
2005.
